Nelson Mountain biking accommodation – We are lucky to have two great accommodation options at the Wairoa Gorge. One at the bottom of the mountain bike park and another pretty much at the top of the park.

Barry’s Bunkhouse at the base of the mountain is rustic hostel style accommodation, book the whole lodge or just a room. Perfectly located for you to roll out the door to your waiting shuttle!
Gibbs Lodge is the ‘eagles nest’ sitting at 1030m on top of the mountain. With stunning views down the valley and out to Tasman Bay, this is THE place you want to finish a big day of riding. When its time to leave you have 70km network of single track literally on your doorstep!

Nelson Mountain biking accommodation at Barry’s bunkhouse is perfect for larger groups (book the whole lodge) or for just a few mates wanting to stay (book a room!) Perfectly located for you to roll out the door to your waiting shuttle! With hot showers, full kitchen, lounge facilities, toilets, electricity and heating – all you need is your own food and linen/sleeping bag.
Rooms – 1 x twin ensuite, 4 x 3 person bunk room.
Please note after hours access is only possible in case of emergency. Check-in is 4.00pm, please contact us to make alternative arrangements.
On the day of departure, the bunkhouse must be left clean and vacated before you leave or begin riding for the day

Group booking of Barry’s hut and a shuttle for up to 14 people, that’s only just over $120 per person (with 14 pax) for a full day riding and a nights accommodation!

We assume you will arrive about 3.30pm if you are staying and not riding on the day of arrival. If you are riding and staying on the same day, we assume you will arrive at 8am.

Nelson mountain biking accommodation at Gibbs Lodge is the perfect end to a great day riding at The Gorge. Gibbs Lodge has a pizza oven, fire pit, electricity, hot showers, full kitchen, toilets and even a washer and dryer in case of wet weather. Linen and towels are included. There is a comfortable lounge space with a large table which can be pulled out onto the deck for summer evening dining with a view, or crank the heating to stay cosy on cooler nights. When its time to leave you have 70km network of single track literally on your doorstep!
Rooms – 4 x double/twin rooms + 1 x double ensuite
Accommodation with Private Shuttle: Arrive at 8am, we will to take you to the top with bikes and gear where you can settle in then use your private shuttles for the day, we will drop you to the top once your done riding. The next morning we will meet you after breakfast to load gear, then you will ride down to the base area and your cars. You can add an extra days riding if you like, just book a second private shuttle day.
REMEMBER: Gibbs Lodge is located across a river and at the top of the mountain. You will need to pack your gear and food in a way that allows you to carry it a short distance (200m) to the shuttle (and then pack it on the shuttle truck). The kitchen has basic condiments – a bit like a motel, so bring what you need!
