Synthesis Marketing are a full-service marketing firm based in Lower Hutt in Wellington, and with staff in Nelson.
Owner Richard and his brother Andrew (one of the Nelson staff) are both lifelong mountain bikers, who have been getting out there since the early days of mountain bike trails in the hotbed of riding that was Wellington in the late 80’s and early 90’s.
Andrew rides the mountain bike trails at Wairoa Gorge when he gets a chance, and knowing some of the volunteers that help run the place, offered to help them with some of their marketing.
Synthesis have ended up hosting and maintaining The Gorge website for us, writing online content and doing the SEO that helps people find us when they are looking for places to ride on Google.
Andrew’s top tips for riding out at the Gorge are:
- Make sure your tyres are up to the job. Lightweight XC tyres aren’t going to handle the harder, rockier trials. If you get really stuck, you can buy new tyres out there (as happened to a mate Andrew was riding with once).
- The trails on The Dark Side are fantastic if you are into that sort of thing, but it’s best to get onto them while you still have some strength left!
When we asked Andrew what his favourite trail at The Gorge was, he struggled to pick one, but said that Alaskan Pipeline is always a good time with so many different lines, structures and features.
If you are looking for help with marketing strategy, business development, traditional or digital marketing, contact Richard and Andrew at Synthesis Marketing. They are great guys to deal with and you might even be able to do your meetings out on the trails.
